A 41-year-old male is in a serious but stable condition in hospital this morning following a serious assault shortly after midnight.
An area beside the Hornby Mall, on Shands Road, is currently cordoned off for a scene examination.
It is expected to be cleared by midday today.
Police continue to investigate the scene to establish what has occurred.
