Whangarei Police investigating an aggravated robbery at a bank in March are hoping that Police Ten 7 viewers will be able to provide vital information to help identify those responsible.

Footage of the suspects will be shown for the first time on tonight’s episode of Police Ten 7, following the incident at the ANZ Bank on 22nd March.

Two heavily-disguised males entered the bank just after 11.30am, one of whom was carrying a firearm, and demanded cash from staff at the scene before fleeing on foot.

The two offenders were caught on camera in the bank and immediately after the incident as they fled the scene.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Huys says a dedicated team are continuing to conduct  enquiries in relation to this incident.

“We are determined to find those involved in this incident, which was frightening for staff and customers in the bank at the time, and hold them to account.

“We are hoping that members of the public may recognise the two suspects in this footage and we encourage anyone with even the slightest amount of information about this incident to contact Police.”

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Huys says Police have also supported ANZ staff involved following the incident.

Anyone with information that may assist our investigation is asked to contact Whangarei Police on 090 430 4500 or they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
