1 min read

Attribute to Detective Mark Reid:

Manawatū Police investigating multiple suspicious shed fires in Dannevirke this month are appealing to the public for information.

The shed fires occurred at a property on the corner of Smith Road and Glengarry Road. The first was on Friday 17 July, and the second was on Saturday 25 July – both were around 8pm.

Thankfully, no one was injured in these fires, however the occupants of the property are understandably very shaken by the incidents.

Police worked alongside Fire and Emergency New Zealand and determined that these shed fires are of a suspicious nature.

Enquiries remain ongoing and Police are now asking for the public’s assistance.

If you have any information on these incidents or were in the Smith Road and Glengarry Road area on Friday 17 July or Saturday 25 July, between 7pm and 8.30pm, and noticed anything suspicious or unusual, please get in touch.

We would also like to hear from anyone that was driving in the area at the same time, who may have dashcam footage that we can review.

Information can be provided through 105, either online or over the phone, and reference file number 260726/8290.

You can also provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
