Mt Cook climbers and their rescuers still snowed in

1 min read

Conditions this morning on the Rudolf Glacier look as though the two climbers and their six rescuers will be on the Glacier for at least another half day.

At 7am this morning the rescue headquarters at Mt Cook village, DOC staff say that the weather on the glacier is reported to be low cloud, and those trapped there says that they are `fogged in’. There has been some light snow over night. However they are as comfortable as they can be and are up getting some fresh air and `making a brew.’

There is also lingering cloud at the Mt Cook village and at this time (7.am) it’s not expected that an attempt will be made before midday.
