1 min read

A teenager from Palmerston North has been charged over the assault of a pizza delivery man with a golf club.

The 52-year-old victim was delivering pizzas to an address in Brentwood Avenue just after 11pm on Monday, but when he got to the location there didn't appear to be anyone there. As he left the property he was assaulted with a golf club and the three pizzas were stolen.

Today a 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated robbery and will appear at Palmerston North District Court tomorrow.

Police are seeking a second person in relation to this incident, and still want to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this investigation or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Brentwood Avenue, Croydon Avenue, and Farnham Avenue areas of Highbury.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Palmerston North CIB on Detective Constable Stephen Field at Palmerston Police on 06 351 3600. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
