Police investigating the two recent Auckland City aggravated robberies of jewellery salespeople, say overnight publicity about two men who may be connected to the incidents - believed to be Mexicans who were last seen in Christchurch in May - has generated a lot of information which has to be assessed and validated.

While Juan Leal Casillas and Jose Roberto Jimenez Perez remain at large today, Police say it's heartening that members of the public have taken an interest in helping to locate them.

Two other men have appeared in the Auckland District Court today on a range of charges. Forty three year-old Caesar Orlando Romero and 26 year-old Javier Espinosa Agreda, were charged with aggravated robbery and participating in an organised criminal group.

Both were remanded in custody to reappear on June 24. Three women are due to appear on related charges this afternoon.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard says anyone who knows where the two men are or who has seen them recently should contact Auckland City CIB anytime on 027 436 7561.

Police have released photographs of some of the jewellery recovered on May 19 when two women were arrested at Auckland International Airport [see attached].
