Remuera home invasion

1 min read

A 19 year-old woman was tied up in her home while family members slept upstairs, by a man who entered the Victoria Ave, Remuera property with his own "tools of trade".

The woman was robbed of personal items including a laptop and jewellery at about 4.30 yesterday morning [Sept 22], before the offender left the property on a blue mountain bike he stole from the residence.

The victim described the offender as aged between 30 and 50, at least two metres tall and of slim, athletic build. He wore green or brown cargo pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a purple patterned bandanna over his face.

Police are concerned about the brazenness and apparent planning around the offence and would like to hear from anyone who saw a tall cyclist in the area around Victoria Ave and Waimea Lane between about 4am and 5am.

Anyone who has experienced any prowler-type incidents in the area recently that have not been reported to Police, should contact Glen Innes CIB on 09 524 1920.

Anonymous callers can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
