Buyer to Bali beware

1 min read

Orewa Police are investigating the legitimacy or otherwise of a company selling non-existent direct flights from Auckland to Bali.

The "flights" - which can be booked on-line - are ostensibly scheduled to start next month but Police are concerned that paying customers might be out-of-pocket with nowhere to go when the time comes for their planned holiday.

Detective Constable John Taylor says he's aware of 10 people who've paid about $1,000 or more on credit for return flights from Auckland to Bali, but that inquiries with Auckland Airport reveal no such flights currently exist or that there are plans afoot to establish them.

"Anyone who has booked what they believe to be a direct flight to Bali from Auckland in the coming months should make contact with us," Mr Taylor said.

Anyone with concerns or information should contact Constable Taylor at John.M.Taylor@police.govt.nz or 'phone 09 4279829.
