New Brighton Police are seeking witnesses to an assault that took place at about 2.30am Saturday 13 June 2009 by the entrance to Esplanade Tavern on Beresford Street, New Brighton.

The victim is a 42 year old man who had been drinking in the bar and was waiting for his friends to leave when he was kicked in the face/head by one male who was with another group of males outside the Tavern.

The victim had three bones broken in his face which required surgery and a titanium plate inserted to repair the damage caused.
