An aerial search of the Grey River was completed about 5pm today and found no trace of the man swept away on Saturday.
Police can confirm the missing man is Jeremy Charles BRONS, aged 24, of Christchurch.
Mr BRONS was the navigator in a 4WD vehicle and was swept away while trying to secure a line from the vehicle which was stuck in the swollen river.
Mr BRONS' family have been speaking with Police and have said they do not wish to make any comment to media. They have asked that media respect their privacy at this time.
Futher search efforts will be reviewed in the morning.
