Current statistics of women in NZ Police
At the end of April women comprised 18.9 percent (1669) of 8831 constabulary staff and 32.7 percent of recruits. Five years ago 17.3 percent of constabulary staff were women. Under the current four-year plan, the target is for women to be 21-24 percent of constabulary staff and 50 percent of recruits by 30 June 2019. Overview of 75 years of women in Police
NZ Police are celebrating 75 years of women in Policing for a variety of reasons with the most relevant being that we still have a number of women who joined the Police in the 1940s and 1950s able to tell us how it was for them in the early decades. Many memories are captured in print and in photos only, so we are using this opportunity to collect stories and memorabilia. ... more
