Main Road in Hope (near Nelson) is partially blocked after a crash involving three vehicles this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the incident, between White Road and Ranzau Road, at about 3pm.
South and north bound traffic are temporarily using a single lane on a stop-go system.
Motorists are advised to expect long delays and avoid the area where possible.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
No serious injuries were reported.
