Immediate actions for decontamination of a vehicle
- Ensure the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area.
- Open all doors and windows fully. Allow vehicle to air out for at least 30-60 minute before entering.
- Run the vehicle’s air conditioning/heating on high with windows open, for 15-20 minutes.
- Wash hard surfaces (dashboard, steering etc) with warm soapy water or a mild detergent solution (this step also applies to any spill of other biological substance such as blood).
- If possible, shampoo fabric seats and carpets with detergent solution.
