Annual Report 2020

Our Annual Report shows our progress against our targets and performance for the year ended 30 June 2020.

Highlights in the year 2019/20 included:

• The total Police Full Time Equivalent numbers (including constabulary and other Police employees) increased by 910 (6.9%)
• There were 25 fewer deaths on our roads from the previous calendar year.
• Police conducted 1,615,359 breath tests.
• Our continued focus on driving behaviours resulted in 97% compliance across the national road network.
• Over the firearms buy-back and amnesty period, Police collected 58,250 firearms and owners handed-in 194,245 parts.
• 2,134 people were referred to Te Pae Oranga rather than entering the court process.
