The Statement of Intent is the Police Commissioner’s expression of the direction he intends to lead the Police as an organisation during his tenure, which runs from April 2020 until April 2025.
It outlines how the Commissioner intends to continue focusing Police effort on making New Zealand the safest country, using our prevention first approach to deliver safe homes, safe roads and safe communities so that everyone can be safe and feel safe. His priorities are about unleashing the potential of Police to help the communities we are part of to create futures more free from crime and harm.
