The Firearms Safety Course theory test and practical training session require applicants to show that they have a strong understanding of the Arms Code and of how to stay safe with firearms.
After gaining a firearms licence, Police encourage new firearms users to join a shooting or hunting club and/or association or partner with an experienced shooter to build on the knowledge and skills gained as a result of the Firearms Safety Course.
