The 105 non-emergency number has been developed to enable Police to provide a better service to the New Zealand public. Police expects a reduction in non-emergency calls to the 111 emergency line overtime as the public become more familiar with 105. We also anticipate the volume of online reports made via 105.police.govt.nz will increase as we continue to improve this service, which will in turn reduce the number of non-emergency reports made over the phone and in-person at stations.
