The drug screening device has an in-built threshold to detect specified drugs at a threshold (limit) that indicates recent use. A positive result will only occur if a drug(s) is detected at or above this threshold.

A positive result is generally accepted as indicative of recent drug use, rather than historical use, passive, or accidental exposure which is unlikely to cause impairment.
