Okaeria Road is closed following a crash in Maramarua Forest this morning. 

Police were alerted to the single vehicle crash at around 9.40am. 

SH1 Waiouru has reopened after the fatal crash overnight.

Police staff remain working in the area.

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on SH1, Waiouru, between Shawcroft Road and Access Road No 17. 

Police were called about 2.55am.
