State Highway 3 is closed north of Whangaehu following a serious crash.
Police received reports of the incident at approximately 5pm. It involved a pedestrian and a vehicle at the corner of Marangai Road and State Highway 3.
There are reports of injuries.
Police have asked motorists to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.
