Shooting sparks investigation

1 min read

A man who Police believe was shot in a Dairy Flat house in the early hours of this morning has been operated on and is in a stable but critical condition in North Shore Hospital.

Rodney CIB are investigating the shooting and have cordoned off the Tender Rd property for the purposes of a forensic examination.

Police were called to North Shore Hospital by medical staff after the man was admitted for treatment at about 1.30am.

Detective Sergeant Scott Beard said the man, a 31 year-old, was unable to give Police many details of the incident as yet, but that a number of people from the address are being spoken to in an attempt to establish what took place there.

"At this stage we believe the shooting might have been drug-related but it’s far too early to confirm that," Mr Beard said.
