SH1 Waiouru has reopened after the fatal crash overnight.

Police staff remain working in the area.

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on SH1, Waiouru, between Shawcroft Road and Access Road No 17. 

Police were called about 2.55am. 

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Poihipi Road, Wairakei.
