Namaste! To mark the climax of Diwali, the ancient Hindu festival of light, we are pleased to present this stunning collage of images (click for a larger view).
The photos were taken by Senior Sergeant Ivan Tarlton, District Responsiveness Advisor (Māori), at the Diwali celebrations held at Counties Manukau Police District HQ last week .
Diwali, which signifies the victory of good over evil, is one of the biggest festivals in India and is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and some Bhuddists.
Celebrations may be spread over many days but the main festival coincides with the darkest new moon of the lunar month - which this year fell on 11 November.
Aap Sab ko prasannata evam anand se paripoorn Diwali ki shubhkaamnaayein!
Twahnu Diwali diyan lakh-2 badhaiyan!
