Our parade - video
Whatever the weather this weekend, here's a reminder of the sunny Monday the capital paid tribute to the women of New Zealand Police.
On 1 August the northern and southern arms of the relay marking the 75th anniversary of women in policing met in Wellington and formed part of a national parade, from Civic Square to Parliament.
Hundreds of current and former staff members took part, accompanied by horses, pipers, police dogs and vintage police vehicles. At their head was Marie Storey, who joined Police in 1943, and more recent recruit Constable Melissa Curtis. They carried the custom-made torches which the relayers had carried from Cape Reinga and Bluff over the previous five weeks - and symbolically joined them together at Parliament, journey's end.
The August edition of Police's online magazine Ten One - available here next week - includes a selection of photos from the parade. In the meantime, enjoy this video of a day to remember.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
