An Air Force Iroquois has this morning joined the search for six year old Coral Burrows who has been missing since Tuesday morning.
Coral and her eight year old brother Storm were dropped off at the school gate but Coral didn’t go in to class.
The Iroquois is conducting aerial sweeps of the waterways in the South Wairarapa including the lake itself.
Twenty police search and rescue staff along with 30 civilian SAR volunteers are continuing ground searches of the waterways, including the top end of the lake edge. With the rivers, creeks and culverts swollen after two days of heavy rain a lot of debris gathers on the lake edge.
Police investigators are continuing to speak with families and children attending South Featherston School where Coral is a year two pupil, Coral’s family and friends and the wider Featherston community.
Forty police recruits from the Royal New Zealand Police College will again this afternoon be knocking on doors of houses in the Featherston area to see if residents can provide any information which will help find Coral or why she has disappeared.
