Two climbers back at Mt Cook village

1 min read

The two climbers at the centre of the rescue operation on Mt Cook are out and safe.

Yvonne COOK and Stephen ROBERTS, who were left by their two companions last Wednesday while they went for help, are out at the Mt Cook Village being checked by a doctor now.

Two of the rescuers were also brought out by helicopter and it’s hoped the weather will stay clear to get the other 8 in the rescue team out by chopper this afternoon.

The two other men climbers in the party who had to shelter at the de la Beche Hut were brought out yesterday afternoon in a break in the weather.
