1 min read

A 37 year-old man is dead and two people, including a Police officer, are in Middlemore Hospital with moderate injuries, after a Police shooting at a residential Pakuranga address at about 3.30pm.

Police were dispatched to the property after a 111 call to ambulance was referred to Police. On arrival a man armed with a knife attacked the three officers inside the house.

He was shot and immediately attended to by ambulance staff already at the Dale Crescent property, but his wounds were fatal.

A homicide investigation has been launched by Counties/Manukau Police and the Police Complaints Authority has been notified.

Acting Counties/Manukau District Commander, Inspector Richard Higginson, says the injured Police officer suffered cuts, as did the woman.
