1 min read

Christchurch Police say a body was found in the Arthurs Pass area today.

Senior Sergeant Stewart Munro said tonight that it was too early to say if the body was that of missing Christchurch woman, Carla Scott.

A group of trampers found the body at about 4.30pm.

A Police search and rescue team is travelling to Arthurs Pass at present. The area where the body was found will be cordoned off and secured overnight.

Senior Sergeant Munro said there would be an examination of the scene tomorrow. The body would also be recovered from the area tomorrow.

The body has not yet been identified.

Police could not confirm whether it was found in an area that search and rescue teams searched last week.
