Police investigating a series of aggravated robberies in Auckland are mystified that they’ve received no information about the robber.
The man has committed 6 robberies at Banks, a TAB and Foreign Exchange dealer in the last 3 weeks.
In each incident the offender passes a note to the teller saying he has a firearm and demands money.
Police have released very clear images of the man and several major media organisations have run the pictures.
"It’s mystifying that we haven’t received even one call from the public suggesting who this man might be", said Avondale CIB Investigator, Detective Constable Leone Smith.
"Normally we get several calls after publishing the smallest, blurry image and these photos are very clear colour ones".
"I can only speculate on the reasons for this but perhaps he’s recently arrived in NZ or he’s not at all known in the criminal fraternity".
"We would really like people to have another look at the photo and urge them to call us with even the smallest clue as to this man’s identity".
