Sightings sought of missing woman

1 min read

Porirua Police are appealing for information about a 56-year-old woman who has gone missing from the Glenbrook Lodge Rest Home in Whitby, Porirua.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam, Kapiti Mana Area CIB, says Mrs Ruth Ida MacDonald suffers from schizophrenia and requires regular medication.

Mrs MacDonald left the home about 8am on Tuesday, 14 December, and hasn't been heard from since. A cash withdrawal was made from her bank account in Wellington City on Monday, 20 December.

She is described as European, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, and solidly built. When last seen she was wearing black trackpant type trousers and a grey jersey. She was also carrying a black handbag.

"Mrs MacDonald has gone missing on previous occasions," Detective Senior Sergeant Oxnam says. "While there is nothing to suggest she has come to harm, health providers are keen to make contact with her so her medications can be updated."

Any information to Porirua Police, on telephone 238 1400 or your nearest police station.
