Description of young woman's body
The female whose body was discovered in a vacant section of Peterborough Street, Christchurch this morning, has not yet been identified however police have issued a short description

She is a female caucasian, probably about 20 years old, about 157 cm (5' 2") tall, with blonde curly, shoulder length hair.

"We are still appealing for anyone who knows of someone who has not come home last night as expected, or anyone with information to contact us," says DSS Dave Harvey.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Harvey says that the inquiry team is keen to identify and speak to any person who has cycled down Peterborough Street at approximately 5.45am this morning, between Park Tce and Montreal Street.

"We do apologise for any inconvenience caused to those persons who vehicles are trapped within the cordon on Peterborough Street," says DSS Harvey. "Can you please contact us to identify which your vehicle is.
Unfortunately you will have to wait until the scene is cleared before you can retrieve them.

The enquiry is focussing on the body still in the scene. It is too early to estimate when this will be removed.
