Attempted Abduction

Christchurch Police are appealing for witnesses after a female was dragged into a car parked in Cambridge Terrace, near the Barbadoes Street Cemetery.

The incident involving a "street worker" and her client, occurred around 11.15 pm on Thursday 23 June 2005.

The vehicle involved was a grey 1986 model Subaru Station wagon, with one male occupant.

"While in the vehicle the victim was sexually assaulted. She
managed to break free from her attacker, and ran screaming from the car, flagging down a passing motorist", says Detective Sergeant Mark Reid.
