Police appeal for witnesses to fight in West Auckland

Police are interviewing a number of witnesses to a street fight that occurred in West Auckland at about 1:30 on Saturday morning.

A 22 year old male is in a critical condition with life threatening injuries after a street fight that appears to have involved about twelve people. There is no indication of gang involvement at this point. .

Detective Senior Sgt John Sutton says, "At this stage it appears a number of weapons were used in the fight, including bricks, bats and pieces of fence."

Police are making door to door inquiries today in the immediate area of the fight.
