The name of a South Auckland toddler who died in Auckland's Starship Hospital on Thursday following a three car collision on SH1 south of Huntly over Labour Weekend has been released.
He was Caleb NARAYAN, 3, of Papatoetoe.
Caleb suffered critical injuries in the crash when the car he was a rear seat passenger in was shunted from behind into the path of a motorcycle as the driver waited to turn off SH1 into a driveway.
Appeals last week via the media for witnesses to the crash to come forward were successful and the inquiry team now have a number of people to interview as the crash investigation continues.
