Arrest after shots fired at bus

Two males have been charged after shots were fired at a cyclist and bus in Christchurch today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Virginia Le Bas says that about 3pm a single shot was fired at a cyclist a the intersection of Colombo Street and Bealey Avenue. Half an hour later three shots were fired from a vehicle at a bus travelling onSawyers Arms Road which smashed the windows. Police were called and two males have been charged. The 17 year old driver will appear in court next Tuesday on an outstanding warrant to arrest.

The firearm has been recovered; it was a CO2 gas powered air gun.
