1 min read

Hamilton detectives investigating a series of violent incidents in the City's CBD early Sunday morning have arrested a man and say further charges are likely.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Keall of the West Hamilton CIB said a 20-year-old man was arrested early this afternoon in relation to the incidents that happened in the market place area by Victoria and Hood streets between 2-3am.

"The man is in custody and is due to appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow charged with two counts of wounding with intent.

"Our enquiries are continuing and we still want to hear from any witnesses who haven't yet been interviewed by Police."

Anyone with information on the incidents, that left three men hospitalised with knife wounds, is asked to contact Mr Keall at the Hamilton Central Police Station on 07 858 6200.

Alternatively information can be left anonymously on the Crimestoppers crimeline, 0800 555111.
