Man injured in altercation

1 min read

At 6.35 pm on Tuesday 17 January 2006 an altercation took place between the occupants of two vehicles on Opawa Road near the intersection of Ensors Road.

It is not certain what started this altercation other than two vehicles were seen parked on Opawa Road, one of them belonging to the victim. He was the only one in his vehicle and there were two or three people in the other vehicle.

The victim was driving an older model Holden Ute described as aqua green in colour and in good condition.

A short time later the victim was assaulted by one or two of the other occupants and as a result he received a fractured skull and is currently in Christchurch Public Hospital.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been travelling on Opawa Road around the time of this incident and could have seen the sequence of events leading up to the assault.

Anyone with information could contact Detective Shane McQUINLAND at the Hornby CIB Office, phone 344 0693.
