Two arrested for aggravated robberies

Two young males have been arrested for two aggravated robberies committed on Wednesday. One is aged 16 years and the other 17 years old.

On 25 January 2006 two aggravated robberies were committed, the first on Stanmore Road just after midnight and the second on Avonside Drive, Christchurch at about 11pm that evening, 23 hours later.

No-one was injured during these incidents.

The first robbery involved two female victims and the second robbery, three male victims. The two offenders responsible were located by Police following the second incident. The offenders were not known to their victims.

Charges have been laid and they both appeared in the Christchurch Courts on 26 January 2006 where they were remanded for further appearances. The 17 year old was remanded in custody to reappear next week.
