Police Seek Missing Male Patient

North Shore Police have issued a public alert for the whereabouts of a 35 year old man, who left the Taharoto Mental Health Unit in Takapuna about 9.30pm last night.

Police say the man is identified as Scott Desmond Dickson.

Dickson is a current patient at the Unit.

Waitemata DHB said today that Dickson was admitted to the intensive care area of the unit approximately two weeks ago displaying psychotic symptoms.

Last night while in transition from the secure area of the unit to the open ward, Dickson scaled a significant wire fence and disappeared into the hospital grounds.

Police were immediately notified along with the community mental health crisis teams.

His description is

190cm or 6ft 3" in height,
Thin Build,
Shaved Brown Hair,
Brown eyes,
Clean Shaven

Wearing Dark Jeans
White running shoes
Dark top
Red bandana
White cap

Police say he was last seen at his home address in Browns Bay,this morning.

Dickson arrived at his family home in a vehicle Registration CLN 429.

This vehicle is a dark blue Diahatsu Charade. DICKSON then left the address on foot.

DICKSON is described as displaying psychotic symptoms.

Police advise that this man is dangerous and is not to be approached.
