Court appearances scheduled for alleged fraudsters

Two women are due to appear in the Auckland District Court next Monday and Tuesday to face a series of charges relating to alleged incidences of mortgage fraud.

One woman, a 29 year-old Glenfield resident who works as a customer services representative, was arrested yesterday by Auckland City Police and will appear on March 28 to face nine charges in all - three of using a false travel document, three of using a document and three of causing a loss by deception.

The alleged offences took place in August, September and October last year and relate to the sum of $540,000.

The other woman, a 44 year-old of no fixed abode, has been ordered to appear on Monday, March 27, to face two charges of using a false travel document and two of obtaining money by deception.

The alleged offences occurred in the latter months of 2004 and relate to a sum of $340,000.
