Police Investigate Fatality in Birkdale

North Shore Police are investigating the death of a 24 year old man in the suburb of Birkdale, after what appears to be a fall from a moving vehicle.

Police say that they were called to Verrans Corner on the North Shore at about 6.45pm Sunday 30 April 2006. On their arrival they found ambulance staff attending to the deceased as he was lying on the road.

Efforts to revive the young man were unsuccessful.

The victim died at the scene.

A 29 year old male driver and three other male passengers are assisting police with their enquiries into this incident.

North Shore Police are asking any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

A post mortem examination will be carried out on the deceased man tomorrow. No names have yet been released by Police.
