Porirua CIB are trying to find a group of young people involved in the aggravated robbery of two women in the Dimock Street area of Titahi Bay late on Friday night.
The two 18 and 19-year-old women were walking along Dimock Street about 11.40pm when they were approached by a group of six teenagers - comprising of four females and two males.
Constable Rebecca Snook, Porirua CCU, says some members of the group walked up to the victims and snatched their hand bags.
When the women attempted to defend themselves they were assaulted by the group and repeatedly punched and kicked.
The offenders were last seen walking towards the alleyway that runs between Dimock Street and Paenui Street, Titahi Bay.
"We'd like to hear from anyone who saw the aggravated robbery, or who saw the group of people hanging around the Titahi Bay area between 11pm and 12.30am," Constable Snook says.
The teenage offenders are described as Maori or Polynesian about 15-17 years old. One of the females was described as about 170cm (5ft.7") tall and of medium build. She had black hair tied back in a pony tail.
She was wearing a brown top with a zip on it and had on white pyjama pants with red hearts or designs on them.
One of the males was described as being quite short about 160 (5ft.3") tall and he was wearing a grey sleeveless hooded sweatshirt. He also had on a blue shirt or something similar underneath.
