Man's Body Found in Creek

Henderson Police are checking current missing person's files in an attempt to identify a man whose body has been discovered in a muddy creek in West Auckland.

Police say that at about 3.00pm this afternoon, Monday 10 July 2006, a member of the public advised there was a body lying face down in the mud in Henderson Creek.

The unidentified man's body is that of a European male aged in his thirties.

When discovered the body was clothed only in a pair of blue shorts.

Police say investigators have established that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the man's identity. A post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.

Henderson Creek is a tidal tributary of the Waitemata Harbour. It is located near the Lincoln Road - Te Atatu North interchange on the North Western Motorway.
