Digger stolen from Pauatahanui

1 min read

Porirua Police are looking for a digger that along with the truck it was on was stolen from Pauatahanui, near Porirua, overnight.

Acting Sergeant Steve McCormick, Porirua Police Intel, says the $55,000 digger is green and grey, and is a 2000 Kobelco hydraulic model.

He said the digger and the truck - a white 2005 Hino tip truck with the signage Evans Contracting on the front, sides and rear, disappeared from where they had been parked on land at the corner of Gray's Road and Paekakariki Hill Road.

The truck was found later this morning with broken windows and a wrecked ignition, abandoned on the Rimutaka Incline access road. The digger however was no longer with the truck.

"We want to know where the digger is now and who was involved in taking both it and the truck."

Any information to Porirua Police Station on telephone: 238 1400.
