Waitomo gunman faces 4 charges

An Otorohanga man arrested early this morning following a series of alleged firearms offences in the King Country over recent days has been charged with a variety of offences.

Waikato District Field Crime Supervisor, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead, said the 24-year-old man faced four charges in relation to the events that began on Sunday night.

"He will be appearing in the Hamilton District Court this afternoon on charges of presenting a firearm, commission of a crime with a firearm, aggravated robbery and commission of a burglary with a firearm."

Mr Whitehead said Police enquiries were continuing and further charges were likely.
