Several people are currently being interviewed by Hamilton Police following the searching of two properties this morning under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Waikato Operations Manager, Inspector John Kelly, said a home on St Olpherts Ave and another on Von Tempsky St were searched with the support of the District's Armed Offenders Squad.
"Distraction devices were used at both addresses however no shots were fired at either address.
"Given the established correlation between the illicit drugs trade and illegal firearms armed officers were used to support the operation to ensure the safety of not only members of the public but our own staff and the offenders themselves.
