A man who died during a motorbike trail ride event near Ohakune at the weekend has been named as Damian Mark Ansell, aged 29 from Hamilton.
Damian was taking part in the annual Desert Storm event in Karioi Forest near Ohakune when he fell from his bike around 11am on Saturday (15 January).
Police are investigating his death on behalf of the Coroner and the Department of Labour has been advised.
There will be no further Police comment.
