Christchurch Police have arrested and charged a 22-year-old unemployed man with the murder of 21-year-old Alexsis Maria TOVIZI, who was found at her Stanmore Road address on 9 December 2010.

The man will appear at the Christchurch District Court tomorrow, Friday 4 February 2011, on charges of murder, theft and using a document.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey says that although the death initially appeared to be not suspicious, Police have continued their enquiries. Today's arrest was a result of those ongoing enquiries.

Police are working with Victim Support to assist the family as they deal with the grief associated with the death and the arrest.

No further comment will be made by Police at the present time.
