Two drivers will appear in court today charged in relation to a double fatal road crash in Foxton in February.
14-year-old Bailey Hohepa Kinita, from Shannon, and Louise Diane Reichenbach, aged 20, from Foxton Beach were both killed on Sunday, 20 February when the Ford Telstar they were travelling in lost control and rolled on Foxton Beach Road.
Neither Bailey nor Louise was wearing a restraint; they were two of seven youngsters in a vehicle designed for five.
This morning the driver of the Ford Telstar, a 19-year-old man from Foxton, has been arrested and charged with two counts of manslaughter and four counts of dangerous driving causing injury.
The driver of a second vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Foxton, has been charged with two counts of being party to manslaughter and four counts of being party to dangerous driving causing injury.
Both men will appear at Levin District Court this morning.
