Police Appeal for Sightings Of Vehicle

North Shore Police will remain at the scene of a homicide enquiry overnight after the discovery of the body of a 77 year old woman in her Eskdale Road home.

Police went to the address at about 1.00pm Sunday 14 January 2007 after the woman's body was discovered inside the house by friends.

The name of the deceased has not been released as next of kin have yet to be informed. This may take several days to determine.

Police say they would especially like to hear from any members of the public or residents of Eskdale Road who has sighted a 1996 Rover Hatchback, coloured Green, with the Registration Number AKM 932

Police say locals may have seen this car in area during the weekend.

Police patrols are searching the wider Auckland region for this vehicle

and anyone who has a sighting is asked to contact Detective Senior Sergeant Kim LIBBY at the North Shore CIB on Mobile 027- 446 -1633.

Further information on this homicide enquiry will be made tomorrow.
